IAPAC is among a select few global institutions guiding the transition from a conceptual to an operational phase of HIV epidemic control, recognizing that HIV treatment as prevention alone is insufficient to achieve this public health milestone, and integrating into our thinking sufficient nuance to allow for the heterogeneity of the AIDS response. In addition to hosting an annual Controlling the HIV Epidemic Summit, IAPAC is engaged in developing normative guidance, conducting capacity-building activities, and engaging in advocacy in support of HIV epidemic control at local and national levels.
