LETTER OF INVITATION

Dr. José M. ZunigaDear Colleagues:

After the success of our regional IAPAC Sessions symposia and of our numerous topic-specific national and international conferences held in The Americas, Western and Central Europe, and Southern Africa over the past decade, I am pleased to announce that the International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care (IAPAC) will host its first multi-track, CE-accredited, abstract-driven international conference – IAPAC 08 – from November 30-December 2, 2008, in the vibrant city of New Orleans.

IAPAC 08 participants will have an opportunity to discuss state-of-the-art approaches to HIV Clinical Management (Track A); HIV Prevention and Psychosocial Support (Track B); and Human Rights, Economics, and Public Policy (Track C) within the context of developed and developing world settings, as well as to consult with world-recognized experts in both informal discussions and formal panel sessions. There will also be ample opportunities to meet with colleagues and exchange ideas in a friendly and congenial environment. And, for those physicians interested in earning a Diploma in HIV Medicine, IAPAC 08 will feature daily administration of our association’s HIV Medicine Diploma Exam.

New Orleans, a beautiful city with a rich cultural heritage, is the venue for IAPAC 08. I am confident that IAPAC 08 participants will find a city that is recovered from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, and that remains a popular tourist destination filled with historical monuments and a rich variety of stimulating activities. In addition, and in the spirit of our humanist-oriented association, IAPAC 08 will offer “volun-tourism” opportunities during which participants may combine conference (and pre- or post-conference) travel with post-Katrina relief service for the benefit of both our participants and the city of New Orleans.

I hope that you will actively participate in IAPAC 08 by contributing to the program by submitting abstracts for oral and poster presentations, as well as by registering to attend.

Warmest regards,

José M. Zuniga, PhD
President/CEO
