Conference Skills-Building Workshops Announced

The Planning Committee is pleased to announce the following skills-building workshops, which will take place Sunday, April 5, 2008, immediately preceding the official opening of the 4th International Conference on HIV Treatment Adherence in Miami. Conference registration fees include participation in all of the skills-building workshops.
  • Promoting Adherence in Clients with Co-Occurring Diagnosis of HIV, Substance Use, and Mental Illness
  • Retention in HIV Care: Methodological Considerations and Practical Applications for Investigators, Administrators, and Clinicians
  • Introduction to Motivational Enhancement Techniques for Adherence Counseling
  • Integrating Peer Educators as Part of the Health Care Team
  • Monitoring Patient Adherence: Recommendations From and For Clinical Practice
  • Addressing Socio-Cultural-Environmental Barriers to Antiretroviral Adherence in International Settings
  • Multidisciplinary Management to Improve Adherence in HIV-Positive Youth

These seven skills-building workshops were selected from among dozens of applications that were submitted in response to a global Call for Workshops issued earlier this year. The Planning Committee wishes to thank all applicants for their submissions, all of which were of high caliber and quality.
